Elko is home to Elko Snobowl ski resort, the only ski resort in northeast Nevada, which is located a short 6 mile drive north of downtown. Snobowl offers its visitors 700 vertical feet of skiing, 100-acres of open bowl skiing and a summit elevation of 6900 feet. The resort has a rather mom & pop feel to it and caters well to families and beginner and intermediate level snow enthusiasts.
