Austin Population: 250
Located along the western stretch of I-50, Austin is a small town tucked into the foothills of the mighty Toiyabe Range. Though small in population, the Austin area is big in recreational opportunity, within close driving distance to three major Nevada wilderness areas and surrounded by an extensive network of trails for hiking, horseback riding, and biking.

Carson City Population: 70,000
Carson City is Nevada's capital and is the power center of the state. Offering visitors a glimpse into wild west history, Carson City is replete with museums, impressive historical homes, and old casinos in its historic downtown.

Pyramid Lake
Just north of the Sparks/Reno metropolis lies Pyramid Lake, a large freshwater lake nestled between two rugged mountain ranges. Appropriately names for a pyramid-shaped island that juts dramatically 800 feet straight out of the lake, this scenic spot is a true oasis in the middle of the Nevada desert.

Reno Population: 200,000
Reno, the "Biggest Little City in the World," is northwest Nevada's tourist hub. Combining with Sparks to make one large metro area, Reno has both its share of casinos, and an abundance of high quality adventure opportunities right at its doorstep, including Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada a short drive to the west.

Walker Lake
Walker Lake, located within the Walker Lake State Recreation Area, is one of the last remnants of Lake Lahontan which covered much of western Nevada nearly 10,000 years ago. Walker Lake now covers 36,000 acres and is defined dramatically on one side by 11,245 foot tall Mt. Grant. Visitors to Walker Lake will find it offers excellent recreational opportunity including boating, hiking, waterskiing, wakeboarding and good wildlife viewing.
