Ely Population: 4500
  Located at the junction of north/south route US Route 93 and east/west US Route 50, two of the loneliest roads in the United States, Ely is a traveller's stop that makes a good base for exploring the surrounding area, with access to several state and national parks.
     
Ruby Mountains
  The Ruby Mountains, affectionately dubbed the "Alps of Nevada," are one of the state's most striking mountain ranges. Jutting dramatically from the floor of the Ruby Valley, these mountains offer world-class recreation to visitors. The Rubies contain 10 peaks above 10,000 feet, and more than two dozen alpine lakes.
