Sonoma Valley California Travel Information
Sonoma Valley is often overshadowed by Napa Valley, its more famous
and commercial counterpart, but this is the very birthplace of
California’s wine country. Some of these vineyards and wineries have
been around a very long time, surviving Prohibition. Sonoma’s wineries
do tend to be smaller and less touristy than Napa wineries, but they
are well-equipped for visitors. But winery tours aren’t
the only reason to stop by Sonoma Valley. Long stretches of beaches
lie up against long stretches of coastline. If you’re more interested
in boating or floating inland, the Russian River is gorgeous indeed.
And if lounging and pampering is more your style, the spas are truly
luxurious. Galleries are everywhere and live theater has a relaxed,
but excellent quality that only fits the wine country
atmosphere. Sonoma
Valley is less than 30 miles north of San Francisco.
