Tourist destinations to consider near Virginia City are listed below. Click on any name for complete information.

Carson City Population: 70,000
Carson City is Nevada's capital and is the power center of the state. Offering visitors a glimpse into wild west history, Carson City is replete with museums, impressive historical homes, and old casinos in its historic downtown.

Fallon Population: 24,000
The Fallon area is an oasis in the desert, part of the Carson River Water System. Visitors to the Fallon area will find a bounty of water-based recreational opportunities surrounding a spread-out rural community.

Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe is one of California’s most famous destinations. The largest alpine lake in North America, Tahoe’s cold clear waters collect the runoff from more than 600 inches of snow which dust the surrounding peaks each season, attracting skiers from around the world, and in summer, the deep blue waters attract boaters, anglers, cyclists, and hot air balloonists.

Pyramid Lake
Just north of the Sparks/Reno metropolis lies Pyramid Lake, a large freshwater lake nestled between two rugged mountain ranges. Appropriately names for a pyramid-shaped island that juts dramatically 800 feet straight out of the lake, this scenic spot is a true oasis in the middle of the Nevada desert.

Reno Population: 200,000
Reno, the "Biggest Little City in the World," is northwest Nevada's tourist hub. Combining with Sparks to make one large metro area, Reno has both its share of casinos, and an abundance of high quality adventure opportunities right at its doorstep, including Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada a short drive to the west.
