Las Vegas Vacations for Shopaholics

Description

Las Vegas vacations are not merely sought after by those who like to gamble, see the shows and productions, or have a wild night on the town. You may even find yourself on the way to Sin City for none of those reasons. In fact, some folks flock to Vegas for what we might call a Retail Romp—to explore the fabulous and extravagant shopping districts found on the Strip and in various hotels and resorts. Vegas is now a magnet for shopaholics, and for good reason. There are at least 16 malls and shopping districts on the Las Vegas Strip. You may stumble upon some of them as you walk down Las Vegas Boulevard, but here are a few you should not miss.

The Fashion Show Mall, located across the street from The Wynn and Treasure Island, is a 2-million-square-foot mall with over 250 shops and restaurants. There are dozens of designer boutiques and large retail chains such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. The mall is named for an actual fashion runway built in to its Great Hall. Over ten million people from around the world visit the Fashion Show Mall annually. It is the largest shopping district on the Strip.

Your next best bet for shopping variety and unique ambience is The Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace. This Roman themed mall has over 160 shops and boutiques, and 13 restaurants and specialty food shops. The façade skyline and talking statues may even distract you from the extraordinary shopping. A recent expansion at the Forum Shops added 175,000 square feet of space with additional levels, and extended the entrance out the Strip, conveniently for pedestrians. This new space is ultra elegant and contains expensive boutiques and galleries, as well as an intriguing spiral escalator.

If these two aren’t enough to prove that Las Vegas vacations are for perfect for shopaholics, be sure to check out these other not to be missed shopping districts such as the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood (over 170 stores with edgy shops like Urban Outfitters), the Encore Esplanade (between the Encore and Wynn), Via Bellagio (inside the Bellagio), and the new Shops at Cosmopolitan (in the Cosmopolitan Resort).
