Motel 6 California
Lassen Volcanic National Park, California

Beneath Lassen Volcanic National Park's peaceful forests and gem-like lakes lies evidence of a turbulent and fiery past. The collision of continental plates here led to violent volcanic eruptions and the creation of twisted, hauntingly beautiful scenery. Last active in the 1910s, Lassen Peak is the park’s centerpiece, towering over the surrounding dormant volcanoes here between the Cascade and Sierra Nevada ranges.

All four types of volcanoes in the world are found within Lassen Volcanic National Park. Over 150 miles of trails and a scenic highway provide access to volcanic wonders including steam vents, mudpots, boiling pools, volcanic peaks, and painted dunes.

Lassen Volcanic National Park is located in northeast California, about 50 miles east of Redding.
