The Bangs/Rough Canyon area contains over 20,000 acres of beautiful canyon country, with large expanses of slick-rock. In the spring, running water dominates the area with waterfalls and the occasional muddy pothole. A jeep trail will take you down through Rough Canyon and then on into Bangs Canyon. Another side trail leads to a scenic overlook of the Gunnison River.
