Description

Located high in the north Georgia mountains and far from civilization, the headwaters of the Chattahoochee River offer anglers the chance to catch rainbow and brown trout. Wild as well as stocked trout inhabit both the Chattahoochee and nearby Henson Creek.

Campers have 34 camp sites to choose from with grills, tent pads and picnic tables.

Seven picnic sites with tables and grills are located across from the camping area.

The Appalachian Trail is nearby, as well as Horse Trough Falls and the Mark Trail Wilderness Area.

The town of Helen is popular for Octoberfest and for it''s alpine village setting, especially during the fall season.

Anna Ruby Falls and Andrews Cove Recreation Area are located nearby and both offer a wide variety of recreation activities.

Georgia fishing license and trout stamp. Check State regulations concerning trout season and bag limits.

Basic Directions

Take Georgia 75 north from Helen for 1.5 miles. Turn left on Georgia 356 (75 alternate), cross river and turn right on paved road next to Chattahoochee Church. Pavement will end, follow for 9 miles to parking area across from campground.
