Description

Desert/mountain drive just east of Quartzsite. See mines and cabin ruins on optional side trips. Stay clear of the Gold Nugget Mine, which is still active.  Trail ends at Dripping Springs with stone cabin ruin and petroglyphs. Great area for ATVs and UTVs with complex network of side roads to explore. To add difficulty, consider alternate exit route that heads south from Waypoint 06.

Starts easy, but gradually gets rougher. Cross and follow wash bottoms where conditions can be unpredictable. Cross one high ridge and drop into narrow rocky wash before Dripping Springs. Aggressive, high-clearance stock SUVs can make it to Dripping Springs. Alternate exit has one tough narrow spot, but is not overwhelmingly difficult. The biggest challenge is finding your way.  Modified vehicles are recommended for this part.
