Description
Named after aviation hero Charles Lindbergh, this lake is highly prized by local residences for its beauty. The east half of the lake has summer homes and a campground and the west half is rugged and pristine. Mission Mountain Wilderness lie in the headwaters of Lindbergh Lake. Recently the U.S. Congress appropriated money to buy several miles of lakeshore property to insure the lake remains undeveloped. Kokanee salmon and cutthroat trout are the primary catch. Occasionally a bull trout is caught and regulations require them to be released unharmed.
Lindbergh Lake is on the south end of Swan Valley and is accessed by turning west on Lindbergh Lake Road (gravel road, number 79). There is a primitive, steep boat launch and a small, primitive campground.
