Fallon, just off US Route 50, is an oasis in the desert, its lush green lands a welcome change from the harsh desert all around. The population of Fallon is close to 24,000 people, but they are mostly spread out beyond the town proper, giving the area a distinctly country feel.
Visitors to the Fallon area can take advantage of a large number of nearby lakes and reservoirs, ranging from small fish ponds to large destinations like Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake. This profusion of water in the normally dry Nevada countryside allows those in the area to fish, sail, swim, waterski, and paddle their way through pleasantly uncrowded vacation days.
Fallon is located in western Nevada about 60 miles east of Reno. For more information on the Fallon area, please select a topic of interest from the list on the left.
