The Ruby Mountains offer an incredible amount of rock climbing opportunity to its visitors. Lamoille Canyon, known as the Yosemite of Nevada, is easily accessed by a 13.5 mile paved road from the town of Lamoille and is home to over 40 bolted sport climbs. Rock climbing enthusiasts will be impressed by both the variety of climbs available here in such established areas as Generator Wall, Sport Wall, Boulder Garden, & Dead Snag Wall as well as the scant number of other climbers that are usually encountered here. During the winter months, Lamoille Canyon becomes the site of world class ice climbing routes, again with little traffic and few crowds. Just on the other side of the Ruby Mountain Range, the Pequops area also offers countless high quality sport climbs, with difficulty ranging from 5.8 to 5.13.
